Austin Fire Chiefintroduced by Lion Ken Crone
The Austin Fire Chief serves the roll of Chief Executive Officer of The Austin Fire Department and is appointed by the City Manager and approved by the City Council. Her role, in addition to overseeing the operations of the entire department, includes AFD management on the day-to-day issues, business practices, and processes of the AFD. Rhoda Mae Kerr made history last fall when she was appointed the first female to hold the title of Fire Chief of Austin. Ms. Kerr will be our speaker next Thursday. She came to our city from Little Rock, Arkansas, and she has also been with the fire department of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Come enjoy the new fire chief as she speaks to our club. Friends are welcome, too..
