Recycle Plastic Bags & Film

The Austin Founder Lions Club is participating in the NexTrex Recycling Challenge.  Our club's goal is to collect 1000 pounds of recyclable plastic bags and film by December 31, 2026.  If we achieve that goal, we are eligible to receive a Trex bench. We already have a place for that bench at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. 

Here is what you need to do to help us achieve our goal of 1000 pounds to qualify for a bench:

• Collect plastic film from your household and friends. 
• Weigh, record and take a photo of you with what you have collected.
• Email or text that photo and how many pounds you collected to our club's coordinator Chuck Mandelbaum at chuck.mandelbaum@gmail.com or 703-606-1214.

• Deliver the collected plastic film to a participating retailer (see list) for recycling.
