"The Voice of the Longhorn Alumni Band"

This will be a unique program that all Lions, Lion wannabes, and anyone who cares about Lionism and the principles of volunteerism and community service should attend.

In 1984, the Founder Lions Club of Austin recognized the 100th birthday of a Legacy Lion: Carl T. Widen – then the oldest Lion in the world’s oldest continuously operating Lions Club.

Our program will feature an edited and improved video of that event – a celebration of Lion Carl’s extraordinary life of community service, and of Lionism itself. You will be surprised to see some of the faces of people that attended that event, Legacy Lions and community leaders of the day. These are people who shaped our Club and this City, and helped create the community of caring that we have today.

On the dais and in the audience will be a panel of Lions that attended that historic event some 30 years ago. After the screening they will offer their views, remembrances, and insights into what made this club great, and how we remain vigorous and relevant going into the future.

Audience interaction is encouraged.

Featured Lunch Menu: Pot roast with fresh green beans and mashed potatoes; mixed field green salad with assorted rolls and a featured daily dessert. Vegetarian meal or Grilled Chicken Caesar salad are available alternatives as well.

Please register by noon on Wednesday

We order meals based on your reservations and must pay for them even if you do not show up. Please keep this in mind if your plans shift and cancel your reservation so we can adjust the headcount.
