Our own Lion and Past President, Scott Hendrix, recently returned from walking the Camino de Santiago through Portugal and Spain and will share his journey and reflections. Hiking a 150 mile path with his 23-year old daughter, Scott traveled a route taken by pilgrims for more than 1,200 years,.to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. Known as "The Way of St. James" in English, the Camino has evolved from religious trek for devout Catholics in the Middle Ages to a journey that today combines spiritual self-examination, culture, history, social interactions with other hikers from around the world, and the opportunity to commune with nature. It has also been the subject of award-winning documentary and dramatic films in recent years. Scott also had encounters with Lions and Lions International while he walked the Way.
