THE AUSTIN FOUNDER LIONS CLUB invites you to the Alan Ford Memorial Golf Classic at the Lions Municipal Golf Course on June 5, 2026. The Austin chapter of the Lions Club International is the oldest Lions club in existence, formed in 1916 by the forward-thinking men and women of Austin who believed service to the public, the underprivileged, and vision impaired and/or handicapped, was a civic responsibility. The 141-acre golf course was built, designed, and managed by the Lions Clubs from its inception in 1924 until 1936 when the deed to the land was transferred to the City of Austin, along with all improvements, built structures, and equipment.

Proceeds benefit Austin Founder Lions Club’s charitable activities, including vision screening for pre-K children and eye exams /eyeglasses for low-income children and adults; eyeglass collection and recycling; Texas Lions Camp for Austin area children with special medical needs; scholarships for Texas School for the Blind & Visually Impaired graduates; support for Austin State Hospital patients and staff; and parent care kits for Dell Children’s Medical Center.
