 Julie Fiore
Founder/CEO One Ounce Opera

Introduced by Lion Drew Scheberle

Telling the right story leads to expansion, not exclusivity. But whose story are you telling? Join Julie Fiore – creative strategist, arts marketer, stage director, and the Founder/CEO of local indie-classical organization One Ounce Opera – to learn how to tug on the threads that matter, stay nimble, and trust what your community tells you to build strong, cohesive connections.

About our Speaker:

Julie Fiore is a creative strategist, director, marketer, producer, mentor, musician, and communicator dedicated to exploring connection and community-building through storytelling. She founded One Ounce Opera (Austin, TX) in 2012 after receiving degrees in Music Performance from the University of North Texas (BMus) and the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music (MM). She spent four seasons as Austin Opera's Director of Audience Experience, ushering in a period of innovation culminating in two OPERA America grants and a place in the Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator. Most recently, she joined as Co-Director at Tetractys New Music where she is the Producing Director of the Here Be Monsters Indie-Classical Festival at RADIO/East, now in its 3rd year. With One Ounce Opera (OOO), she has produced 12 seasons of programming aimed at "reimagining opera in unexpected spaces," and has been nominated for over 25 awards including four B. Iden Payne nods for Outstanding Direction. OOO's flagship micro-opera showcase Fresh Squeezed Ounce of Opera was recently named a Best Of Finalist (Austin Chronicle, 2024) and a Top 12 of 2024 (KMFA Classical 89.5). She serves as the CEO & Artistic Director of OOO and the Creative Director for local firm Zanate Marketing, where she transforms her client's work with compelling, connective stories.
