Sarah Murry Introduced by Lion Judy Saal
Every day there are children in your local community who are waiting for a loving, permanent home. Most people do not know these kids exist, as adoption is often associated with babies or international adoptions. The Heart Gallery uses beautiful, dignifying photos done by volunteer photographers to install as art exhibits in community hubs to raise awareness and share their stories. Adoption rates in Central Texas are increasing, and the model of the Heart Gallery of Central Texas has now been replicated across the state. We welcome you to hear about our work and partner with us to be a presence in your local community.
About our Speaker:
Sarah Murry has directed the Heart Gallery of Central Texas since 2022, working to expand the work into 30 counties in Central Texas. Her program's success paved the way to establish Heart Galleries in every region of Texas, modeled after this program. Previously, she worked for an NGO internationally and directed the sector for Women's Initiatives where she worked with vulnerable women and children. The highlight of that work was providing literacy, business, and financial courses to women and training them to be project managers. Sarah started her career as a high school science teacher before moving overseas, and has drawn on her experience writing curriculum, training, and connecting with people to serve others well in each role. She grew up in Round Rock and moved back in 2022 to be closer to her family. Sarah, her husband, and dog now live five minutes from her parents.
