 Josephine Lukito
Introduced by Lion Mac Ragsdale

Social media have an important part of the election cycle as political actors leverage social media. Building on her work on the 2022 U.S. Midterm elections, Dr. Lukito will highlight common misinformation narratives in the 2024 election, particularly those that are amplified across multiple social media (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Gettr, Truth Social, and Telegram). She will also discuss ways to combat and report election-focused misinformation.

About our Speaker:

Josephine ("Jo") Lukito (she/her) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Journalism and Media.
