Austin is changing like never before, putting unprecedented pressures on our city's historic places. Lindsey Derrington, Executive Director of Preservation Austin, will discuss pressing preservation issues facing our city today, and how her nonprofit is working to bring more Austinites into the preservation movement.

About our Speaker:

Lindsey Derrington serves as Executive Director of Preservation Austin, our city's nonprofit voice for historic preservation. Her leadership has transformed that organization through strategic vision, good governance, and her commitment to building a more inclusive preservation movement in one of America’s fastest-growing cities. Lindsey is a St. Louis native and began her career with the Landmarks Association of St. Louis in 2007. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Washington University in St. Louis and a master’s degree in preservation studies from the Tulane School of Architecture. Her advocacy efforts, in partnership with so many amazing friends and colleagues, have been honored with awards from Missouri Preservation and Docomomo US.
