Refugee Services of Texas

 Founded in 1978, Refugee Services of Texas (RST) is a social-service agency dedicated to providing assistance to refugees and other displaced persons fleeing persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group - as well as to the communities that welcome them. RST remains the largest resettlement agency in Texas and provides refugees, asylees, and survivors of trafficking with comprehensive services, basic needs, job placement, and more.

About our speaker:

 Kyler Wesp is RST’s Austin area Development Associate. She has been working with refugees for a decade, in both direct service and development arenas. She is a graduate from the University of Texas and is happily living in Austin fulfilling her dream of helping those who need it most.

Starting at 11:45 a.m., a BBQ buffet, consisting of choice of meats (brisket, pork ribs, smoked turkey breast, sausage), choice of sides (beans, potato salad, coleslaw), drinks (water or unsweetened ice tea), and a dessert (banana pudding) will be available in the Crockett Room. Cost of the lunch is $14.00 per person. Please register online before 5 pm on Tuesday. You can pay online or at the meeting, but it is much preferred that you pay online to reduce handling of cash. The actual meeting will begin at noon, and conclude by 1 p.m.
