Hearing your mom read to you is incredibly important in a child’s journey towards success. It is missing when your mother is incarcerated. Women’s Storybook Project of Texas works to connect children with their incarcerated mothers through the joy of literature.
About our Speaker:
Jill Gonzalez has been involved in the promotion of literacy her whole professional life. First as a teacher, then reading specialist, then nonprofit program manager and Executive Director. She has been at the helm of Women’s Storybook for 2 ½ years. Her favorite picture book is Shh! We Have A Plan. She lives in Round Rock with her husband and enjoys singing in multiple choirs.
