Officers Installation

All Austin Founder Lions Club members are encouraged to attend the June 20 meeting. The 2019-2020 board and officers will be installed, and awards for the 2018-19 year will be presented.

At the invitation of President-Elect Ann Ward, District 2-E 1 PDG Gary Sult of Stephenville will conduct the installation. Lion Ann’s father, PDG Tom B. Ward of Breckenridge, was a long-time friend and mentor to Sult who serves as treasurer of the Texas Lions Camp Board.

Lion Gary will share his perspective on the challenges facing Lions clubs in the U.S. today.  LCI has a proud legacy of service and is thriving in many parts of the world, particularly Asia and Africa, while clubs in the U.S. struggle to grow membership and remain relevant. Leadership and service have never been more important.

As the gavel is passed from President Scott Hendrix to President-Elect Ann, and the governance of the club passes to the new board and officers, members have the opportunity to demonstrate their support of the volunteer leaders elected, and show their commitment to helping the club achieve its goals and objectives in the coming year.

PDG Gary Sult is a CPA and is a shareholder with Boucher Morgan & Young, a PC, CPA. He has been a member of the Texas Agri-Life Extension Services Leadership Advisory Board since 2004, and treasurer of the Stephenville Soccer Association Board since 2003. He has been trustee and treasurer of the Tarleton State University Wesley Foundation since 2003. He is a board member and treasurer of the Erath County Habitat for Humanity Board.

He joined the Stephenville Lions Club in November 1989 and served as president in 1995-96. He was District Governor of the 23-county District 2-E1 in 2005-06. He has served as Financial Advisor for Multiple District 2 (State of Texas) Council of Governors since 2006. He served two terms as an Elected Director on the Texas Lions Camp Board from 2001 to 2004. He is chair of the camp’s Audit Committee and was elected to the Executive Committee in 2017.
