CEO Girl Scouts
Introduction by Lion Lillie Gilligan
Ms. Moore will present the history and community impact of the Girl Scouts as they get ready to celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary.
Etta Moore is the Chief Executive Officer for Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Ms. Moore directs the work of 85 staff serving 46 Central Texas counties. As a single mother, she enjoys hosting students from other countries, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ms. Moore has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Oklahoma State University.
Growing up in Oklahoma, she began her career with Girl Scouts as a volunteer. That volunteer experience soon led to her first paid position as a receptionist. Etta was promoted to a variety of jobs in Girl Scouts. She joined the staff of the Lone Star Girl Scout Council in Austin in 1989.
Advancing to the position of Executive Director in 1994, her accomplishments included the successful completion of an $8 million capital campaign for the construction of a new headquarters; the purchase of Camp Texlake which included a major renovation and construction project; and the reorganization which resulted in four Girl Scout councils, serving 46 counties, being merged into one – Girl Scouts of Central Texas - serving 20,000 girls.
