Austin Founder Lions Club
Introduced by Lion Bill Tamminga
The Zilker Botanical Garden has an enchanting Japanese Garden, a large colorful Rose Garden, an Iris and Daylily Garden, a Herb and Fragrance Garden, a butterfly garden, a cactus garden, a Pioneer Garden set among historic log cabins, and a prehistoric garden recreating Austin’s ancient dinosaur habitat. All of these gardens are connected by delightful waterfalls, streams and koi filled ponds.
The center is the home of 31 Austin area Garden Clubs.
The Zilker Garden Center is on Barton Springs Road in Zilker Park. They may charge you $1 for parking in front of the Garden Center Pavilion.
Please arrive at the Zilker Botanical Garden before noon so you can find us at the Oak Grove next to the Garden Center, have your lunch. After lunch, we will have two docent led tours. One will be 1 hour and the other will be 1 ½ hours long. You can leave the tour at any time.
You may linger and smell the roses for as long as you like after the tour is finished. The flowers are blooming beautifully this time of year!
