Journalism in the Digital Age - Judy Maggio

Judy Maggio will bring us her 30 plus years of involvement in commercial television and public broadcasting to give insight to the changing face of journalism in the digital age. You will also hear about public broadcasting and the important role it serves both locally and nationally.

Judy Maggio is KLRU's Editorial Director. She oversees KLRU's news and public affairs reporting and leads Decibel, a new multi-platform reporting project. Decibel amplifies stories and issues important to Austin by listening to the community and encouraging dynamic discussions. Maggio has more than three decades of experience as a lead news anchor in Austin. She served as Managing Editor at both KVUE-TV (1981-2003) and KEYE-TV (2003-2014). Most recently she has been consulting on communications, video production as well as heading up the Engage Breakfast Series for Leadership Austin group, moderating its monthly panel discussions with high profile Austinites talking about key issues facing the city.
