St. David's Foundation
A Truly Unique Asset for Austin Texas

August 10, 2017

Earl Maxwell
introduced by Lion Alan Ford

You are invited to attend our weekly meeting August 10 featuring Earl Maxwell, CEO of Austin’s own St. David’s Foundation—one of the largest foundations of its kind in the USA.

Through a unique partnership, the Foundation reinvests proceeds from St. David’s HealthCare to help build the healthiest community in the world! The Foundation helps people in every corner of the community through signature programs and collaborations with more than 60 nonprofit partners. This year the Foundation plans to invest more than $75 million to connect thousands of low-income people to a full range of health services.

As Chief Executive Officer, Earl is responsible for the Foundation’s strategic direction. He coordinates an extensive grants program, the largest scholarship program in Texas for aspiring health professionals, the largest mobile dental program in the country, multiple boards, and several community service groups, with focus areas including safety net clinics, agencies serving older adults, mental health initiatives, and support for healthy living initiatives.

During Earl’s tenure, the Foundation’s grant program has increased from $10 million to more than $65 million annually, the dental program has grown to nine mobile dental vans, serving more than 10,000 schoolchildren annually.

Earl is a graduate of the University of Houston. Prior to stepping into the St. David’s role, he was a founding partner of Maxwell Locke & Ritter LLP, Austin’s largest accounting and consulting firm. He has served as board president or chair for numerous organizations including the Austin Community College Foundation, Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce, and The Long Center’s Corporate Council.
