Austin Founder Lions Club
Work Day consists of doing a variety of tasks at the Texas Lions Camp (TLC): yard work, cleaning, painting, removing brush, etc. More skilled tasks include welding, carpentry, and electrical. About 400 Lions from across Texas are expected at the TLC on April 1. Family members/friends are invited to come.
WHERE: Texas Lions Camp, Kerrville, Texas (2 1/2 hour drive from Austin)
WHEN: Saturday, April 1, 2017; 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
WHY: Our Lions Club needs you to volunteer to help prepare the TLC for the youth to attend summer camps. TLC provides one week long summer camps for vision impaired and disabled youth during the months of June, July, and August. There is no expense to the youth participating or to their family. Our Lions Club dues help support TLC and pay for the many youth attending the summer camps.
Logistics: Overnight stay on Friday evening is available at the TLC at no cost. Bring your own bedding and personal items. Hotels are available locally at your own expense. Breakfast and lunch on Saturday are included at no cost. Wear comfortable work clothes including gloves and hat. Those traveling on Friday may want to arrive NLT 6:30 pm so that we can enjoy a meal together at a selected restaurant in Kerrville.
Please register by Friday March 24.
