Hindu Charities for America (HC4A) was founded in Austin in 2010 as a non-denominational charity with the mission to Bridge Income Disparity Through Education. Data shows that there are possibly over 45 million people who live below federally defined poverty standards. HC4A provides opportunity to communities who has prospered to help those who are economically not so well to do.
HC4A has two projects – Annual donation of school supplies to homeless children in the Austin area working with Texas Homeless Education Office, and awards of vocational scholarships to those students who are economically disadvantaged. This year, over $23,000 is being donated for school supplies and $37,000 in vocational training scholarships. Our plan is to raise $50,000 in scholarships this year from Aadhaar Gala planned for November 5th, 2016, 6:30pm at Crown Plaza, Austin.
We will welcome two representatives from HC4A to speak about these efforts and describe the Aadhaar Gala event.
We order meals based on your reservations and must pay for them even if you do not show up. Please keep this in mind if your plans shift and cancel your reservation so we can adjust the headcount.
