Marathon Kids is an evidence-based non-profit organization, dedicated to improving the health of children by providing the motivation, tools and support to live happier, healthier lifestyles.

Because of physical inactivity and poor food choice, today's youth are the first generation in history to face a shorter life expectancy than their parents. Together with local and national partners, Marathon Kids is changing this story, delivering a program that results in long-term healthy behavior adoption. By pioneering running clubs as catalysts for change, Marathon Kids empowers children and communities to take charge of their own health, both here in Austin and beyond. How? Join us to find out.

Emily Jane Steinberg is an engaging writer, artist and speaker, with a wide-ranging background in nonprofits and change work. As the Grants Manager for Marathon Kids, she creates powerful narratives to win funding for real impact. As a Graphic Recorder, she visually captures presentations and discussions in real time, facilitating group understanding and surfacing the latent connections between ideas. She is also a poet, gardener, performer, and triathlete, and since 2013, calls Austin home.
