Neil F. Blumofe 

Come hear about the history and vibrant jazz music scene in Austin Texas.

Prior to this interesting program will be the Installation of Officers for the 2015-2016 year for the Austin Downtown Founder Lions Club.

Neil Blumofe is the Senior Rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim in Austin, Texas, a growing congregation of 620+ families. He holds Rabbinic Ordinations from the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in New York and the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles. Rabbi Blumofe also holds the diploma of Hazzan (Vocal Cantorial Arts) from JTS. 

Rabbi Blumofe is active in the Austin community — producing and performing at the historic Cactus Café in the “Jazz and the Art of” series for Views and Brews, sponsored by KUT radio. His weekly Liner Notes on various jazz artists can be heard on KUTX, 98.9, every Sunday morning at 8:00. 

He is on the Executive Board of the Texas Freedom Network, and on the Board of the Interfaith Action of Central Texas. Rabbi Blumofe has been a Rabbis Without Borders fellow in New York, and is a member of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.  He looks forward to being part of the Rabbinic Leadership Initiative in Jerusalem at the Shlomo Hartman Institute this summer. He is grateful to his cherished community for the privilege to lead and to learn everyday at Agudas Achim.
