Oliver Smith Introduced by Lion William Tamminga
Oliver Smith was in charge of the Texas Society of Civil Engineers’ Review of what went wrong during the Big Freeze that killed hundreds of people and did immense property damage in Texas.
Join us to hear his insights into if Texas is really ready for another Big Freeze.
About our Speaker:
Oliver E. Smith is an Austin-based civil engineer, and member of the Texas chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He has served as an Officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Colorado, Texas and Louisiana.
Oliver was born and raised at Prairie View A & M University. He earned a BS and MS in Civil Engineering and Business Administration at Michigan State University. Over his 47 years of professional activities, Oliver served as an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers (Active Duty and Reserve Duty) and was promoted to the rank of Captain during his service tenure.
