Lion Sam is a Candidate for International Director in Lions International. He will speak to us about what it means  to be a Lion.

Lion Sam has had the privilege to serve Lionism in two Districts. In District 2-S2 Lion Sam served as President of the Conroe Noon Lions Club, Zone Chairman, Deputy District Governor, District Convention Chairman, Director to the Texas Lions Camp, and Cabinet Secretary/Treasurer.

In District 2-X3, Lion Sam has served as Director to the Texas Lions Camp, President of the Kosse Lions Club, President of the Buffalo Lions Club, Region Chairman, and Vice District Governor, and was installed as District Governor at the International Convention in Boston on July 4, 2006. Currently PDG Sam serves as a Guiding Lion to the Leon Lions Club and District 2-X3 GMT Chairman.

Lion Sam is a Life Member of the Texas Lions Camp, a Life Member of the Lions Eye Bank, and a Century Club Member of the Texas Lions Camp. Lion Sam is the recipient of two Lion of the Year Awards, two 100% Director Awards to the Texas Lions Camp, four Club Extension Awards, Key Member Award, International Presidents Growth Award, and is a Jack Wiech Fellow and a Melvin Jones Fellow. PDG Sam was awarded the International President’s Award by International President Barry Palmer in April 2014 and by International President Jimmy Ross in August 2007, and the Lions International Leadership Award in May 2012. In August 2007, PDG Sam was elected Secretary to the Texas Lions Camp, and was be inducted as the 44th President at the annual Board Meeting on August 4, 2012.

Lion Sam is married to Lion Jodye, and they have two daughters, three granddaughters and one grandson. PDG Sam worked in public accounting for 25 years and has worked as CFO for various oilfield service companies for the past 10 years. He and Jodye are members of the Kosse Church of Christ.
