Lions are service-minded men and women dedicated to making their communities better places to live. The Austin Founder Lions Club (AFLC) is proud to serve the Austin area through a variety of impactful programs.

We provide free vision screenings for pre-kindergarten children in Austin’s public and private schools, and we extend these services to both children and adults at community events such as Coats for Kids. For those who cannot afford them, we offer free eye exams and prescription glasses.

In partnership with Lions Clubs International, we collect and recycle used eyeglasses for distribution in developing countries around the world. We also support the Texas Lions Camp, which serves children with special medical needs, including physical disabilities, Down syndrome, cancer, and Type 1 diabetes.

As a Lion, you will:

Each Thursday at noon, the Austin Founder Lions Club hosts a lively and informative meeting featuring speakers on a wide variety of topics - including business, finance, health, education, the arts, sports, and local entertainment. You'll also hear a brief update on current Lions Club activities and service projects.

When registering, you’ll have the option to order a light lunch.

1. Download and complete the Membership Application
   Use the link below to download and print the application form. Be sure to include your full birth date—this is required by Lions Clubs International (LCI).
2. Submit your application
   Have your sponsor sign the form, then submit it along with the $35 application fee to your sponsor or the club Secretary.
3. Membership dues
   Annual dues are $200 and may be paid in quarterly installments of $50. Once your application is approved by the Board of Directors, you’ll receive a prorated invoice for your initial quarter.
4. Membership activation
   Upon approval:
   * You’ll be added to the Lions Clubs International database
   * You’ll receive a lapel pin and a  personalized member badge
   * You’ll gain access to the Members-Only area of our website
5. Induction ceremony
   New members are formally inducted at one of our regular meetings, where you’ll receive your official Lions membership pin and certificate.
