Jennifer Lava
Professional Organizer

introduction by Lion Robert Seidel

Jennifer LavaSpeaker's Bio: Jennifer Lava worked for years in retail and administrative assisting positions for both the State of Texas and in the private sector. Some of these jobs included working for the Texas State Preservation Board, real estate developers and a custom frame shop. They taught her about customer service, records retention, preserving art and memorabilia, and working with people with demanding standards. When she examined my responsibilities in those positions she realized that she was often the one who was assigned to or volunteered for the organizing projects. Jennifer would organize the party, the files, the storage room, the work schedule, the fund raisers, etc. So it became clear that helping others get organized by using her experience, natural skills, and compassion for the struggles of others was the way to find happiness by starting her own business. Jennifer works with creative, and not so creative, people who are ready for a one of a kind organizing system for their home or office that reflects their uniqueness.

She is currently serving on the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Marketing Committee. She is a Member of NAPO’s Golden Circle, signifying an elevated level of organizing experience. Jennifer is currently the President of Austin Chapter of NAPO. She had served as Membership Director, the 2009 Get Organized (GO) Month Chair, and Marketing Director. In 2012 she was presented the NAPO-Austin President’s Award for Exemplary Service to the Chapter. Jennifer is also a subscriber to the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD).

You can find her quoted in the August 2011 issue of Good Housekeeping Magazine in an article about Reducing Mail box clutter. She contributed to an article in Good Housekeeping Magazine in January 2014 about Organizing Everything Even if you Only Have 10 Minutes. She is quoted in Consumer Reports in February 2014 in an article about Saving Time in the Kitchen.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor's Degree in History from St. Edward's University. In her free time she enjoys reading history books, working on craft projects, taking tap dancing classes, working on her family genealogy and spending time with her husband, Jay, and their dogs, Bella and Josie.
