Even though we may hesitate to think or talk about final arrangements, most of us expect that they will be as costly as they are inevitable. If, however, we were to do a bit of research, ideally before we need to make a decision, would we be surprised to discover that cremation charges in our area range from $595 to over $4,000? And what about our rights when dealing with a funeral home? Do we have any?
In our time together, we’ll see ways in which the FTC’s Funeral Rule has been defining and protecting funeral consumer rights since 1984. We’ll also look at a 2021 price survey that makes it easy to compare various funeral home charges in the Greater Austin area.
Should you have a question about any end-of-life topic – for example, what happens when someone passes away on a cruise ship – be sure to bring it along.
