Let’s Talk About Polyethylene

DATE: July 22, 2021  12:30 pm via Zoom

 Lion Greg Dew
Introduced by Lion Gaylord Armstrong

Plastic bags and film packaging are important durable and lightweight protection for food and merchandise in transit. But these materials are not normally accepted in curbside programs because they can get caught in the machines that sort other valuable recyclables. Trex® — the world’s largest manufacturer of composite decking products — is proud to sponsor local recycling programs in communities throughout the country. When our club collects 500 pounds (or more) of plastic film refuse, Trex will donate a high-performance composite bench to our community. Greg will provide an overview of our project, information about how EVERYONE can get involved collecting plastic film, and recruit VOLUNTEERS to manage this exciting new AFLC project.

About our Speaker:

Greg Dew is 2nd Vice President of AFLC, a volunteer puppy raiser for Leader Dogs for the Blind, and the Leader Dog Chair for District 2-S3. Greg is a leading expert on nothing in particular.
