Caritas of Austin is a longstanding leader in supporting people who experience unsheltered homelessness. Permanent supportive housing is the single most effective intervention to achieve what we all want…no more people sleeping on the streets of Austin. Caritas has achieved and maintained a track record of 95-98% stability rates using this intervention. Come hear Caritas CEO Jo Kathryn Quinn’s thoughts on the Caritas mission, the rationale for and “must haves” to help people who are unsheltered re-integrate into our community and her thoughts on the May 1 City of Austin election on the camping ban and the best road ahead.
About our Speaker:
Jo Kathryn Quinn is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Caritas of Austin. She first joined the Caritas staff in 2005, as Director of Housing Services prior to taking the CEO role in 2012.
With over 30 years’ experience in various aspects of non-profit management she has had the privilege of serving in the fields of education, mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, child protection, international/domestic homelessness and housing. She is a leader in several community collaborations. In addition, she has volunteered on various non-profit boards.
