Michael Barnes, native Texan and author of numerous acclaimed columns, articles and stories about Austin and Texas, will share with us his perspective of Austin and the changes during the past several decades.

About our Speaker:

Michael Barnes is a native Texan who earned his Ph.D. at the University of Texas. For the past 33 years, he has written about the people, places, culture and history of Austin and Texas for the Austin American-Statesman and Austin360.com. He is the author of three volumes of historical stories entitled “Indelible Austin.” He produces the “Think, Texas” free weekly digital newsletter about Texas history and, with J.B. Hager, the weekly podcast “Austin Found” about Austin history.
