Austin Buchan, CEO of College Forward, will join us to share updates on the state of higher education in Texas and explore College Forward's most recent innovations on how they plan to scale coaching services to our community's most underserved, first-generation collegians. Together, we'll explore trends in regional success rates and learn more about the common struggles low-income students must navigate on their path to a middle class life.
About our speaker:
Austin Buchan, Chief Executive Officer of College Forward, collaborates with national leaders to help shape the organization’s strategic vision. He joined College Forward in 2010 as a Persistence Program Manager, and took on lead roles in developing strategy and technology for the organization.
Throughout his tenure, Austin has expanded College Forward’s services to over 10,000 new students and families across the country, and oversaw the development and release of CoPilot – a leading student data management tool built on the Salesforce platform and currently reaching 400,000 students across 22 states.
Prior to joining College Forward, Austin worked in rural Nicaragua developing college persistence programs and managed national political campaigns in Boulder, CO and Boston, MA. He received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from Trinity University and is a 2016 graduate of the UPenn Center for Social Impact Strategy’s Social Entrepreneurship program.
