Women & Their Work is a nonprofit visual and performing arts organization located in Austin. We serve as a catalyst for new ideas in contemporary art created by women living and working in Texas and beyond. For over 40 years, Women & Their Work has brought groundbreaking art to Austin through exhibitions, performances, and educational workshops

About our speakers:
Betty Trent, AIA LEEDAP is an architect who has lived in Austin for over 40 years. She is an art lover and collector. She has served on the board at Women and Their Work for 6 years.

Diane Sikes is the Program Director for W&TW and has over ten years’ experience in arts program management. Previous museum positions include Director of Programs for Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum, Education and Outreach Manager at Dallas Contemporary. She holds a MFA in Studio Art.

In 2013, Women & Their Work commissioned the public art installation of “THIRST,” which featured a 38-foot tall tree killed by drought hovering in the center of Lady Bird Lake to memorialize the 500 million trees that died in Texas as a result of the 2011-2013 droughts. The installation was accompanied by thousands of prayer flags. Artist Beili Liu has repurposed these flags into face masks during the current pandemic. W&TW are donating a mask which we will auction at the end of the program to benefit our Administrative Fund since we haven’t been able to “pass the hat” on Zoom!
