Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy
On Monday, Nov. 11, Lions John Nyfeler and Ann Ward will announce the winners and present the prize money ($100 for first place and $50 for runner-up), as well as present certificates to all who entered. This will be during a school-wide assembly which begins promptly at 8:15 a.m. We invite you to attend the assembly and help recognize and support these young artists.
The school is located at 7414 Johnny Morris Road.
Remember that you must check-in with the office and present a photo ID, so please arrive by 8 a.m. to allow time for registering with the school. There is limited parking in front of the school; however, you can drive around the school and park to the east of the school near the track, and it’s an easy walk around to the front main entrance.
Sterlin McGruder, principal, and Melani Hyche, art teacher, will conduct the assembly. They are thrilled that Austin Founder Lions selected Gus Garcia YMLA for this year’s contest. I know 8:15 a.m. on a Monday morning is tough, but if you can make it, I think the students will be very appreciative.
