Jeff Sloan & Chaucer
Introduced by Lion Mac Ragsdale

The Dog Alliance enables dogs to enrich people's lives. Jeff Sloan will discuss the various programs that The Dog Alliance has created to help make a difference in these people's lives, such as Hounds for Heroes, which trains service dogs to be presented and paired with veterans who suffer from PTSD. Jeff shall also discuss other programs that serve our very deserving veterans as well as adults with special needs.

About our speaker:
After a total of 38 years in the high tech industry, including IBM, Dell and 13 years as a professor of Computer Science, Jeff Sloan retired from the industry to pursue his passion: dog therapy. He and his wife have a certified therapy dog, Chaucer, who is a two-and-a-half-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They also have a six-month-old puppy, Dickens, who has begun his extensive training towards certification. Chaucer visits nursing homes, veterans' homes, the VA Domiciliary, elementary schools, universities, and public libraries.

Jeff currently serves as an ambassador for The Dog Alliance and is also a member of their Board of Directors. Additionally, he volunteers as an ambassador with the Leander Chamber of Commerce.

His future plans include more therapy visits to more sites and a deeper involvement in the Service Dogs for Veterans with PTSD Program, known as Hounds for Heroes!
