The Waller Creek Chain of Parks will be a string of jewels from UT to Town Lake, designed by world renowned Architects & Planners and promoted by Waller Creek Conservancy. This Downtown Austin project will shape the Waller Creek Corridor for generations and the Downtown Club needs to know about it.

John Rigdon


John Rigdon was educated as a city planner and has worked in project management, design, programming, and public engagement both academically and professionally. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and City and Regional Planning. He eventually made his way to Austin and graduated as a Master of Science in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT John focused his studies on sustainable community planning and public engagement strategies.

John is currently the Director of Planning and Design at the Waller Creek Conservancy. In this capacity he manages a large interdisciplinary design team and coordinates with project partners at the City of Austin on the design and implementation of a the Waller Creek project. The WCC is currently underway on design of large portions of the Waller Creek Chain of Parks, with an estimated opening date of the first parks in 2018.
