Weekly Luncheon & Program

Progress at TSBVI
introduced by Lion Patti Robinson

Karl Oberlander is the Senior Project Manager for the Texas Facilities Commission.  He will talk about the history and overview of the construction project at the Texas School for the Blind and why it is of significant importance to the community of Austin and the community of the state as well.

Karl is an Architect by profession and has pursued this career since graduating from the UT School of Architecture in 1975.  Early in his career he was corporate staff architect with AT&T and got a chance to work on a wide variety of project types from the very  technical to more conventional corporate office settings and leases.

After that he devoted many years to private practice which was mainly focused on the emerging IT industries.  Karl’s clients ran the gamut of high tech companies including AT&T, Tandem computers and Texas Instruments.

For the last 5 years Karl has been employed by the state first at TxDOT and now at the Texas Facilities Commission where he was recently named as the Director of Project Management.  When he first came to the Facilities Commission he was assigned to the Texas School for the Blind building program and has been taking care of that ever since.

Please register before noon on Wednesday.
